Hi everyone I gave invasive ductal cancer and am taking 6 months of Letrozole before surgery. My hair seems to be thinning due to the medication. Has anyone had experience of this or know of anything I can use to help please. Thanks

    • Hi, I take  Anastrazole , for the first few weeks, I definitely lost a lot of hair . It was coming out in my hand in the shower. But I do have a lot of hair . It wa really upsetting but it did stop. I think it has receded a bit at the front but I don’t think anyone would notice. It’s a side effect of lack of oestrogen . X
  • Yeah I was just hoping there would be something that could help I suppose. My hair isn’t that thick anyway so it’s becoming more noticeable x

  • There are shampoos and conditioners you can buy . Someone on here might be able to recommend . Or your hairdresser? Fingers crossed

  • Hopefully someone will know of something xx

  • Fingers crossed . Side effects are Cry

  • Hi Woody14, I had some hair loss issues a few years ago (not bc related). I saw a dermatologist and was recommended viviscal 3 times a week. I have fine hair and found that ogx biotin / collagen shampoo makes a difference to my hair too. I will be starting letrozole soon and am anxious about it triggering hair loss - it’s a common side effect. Hope it eases up soon, X
