anyone know how long you are recommended to wear compression socks after a lumpectomy???
Thank you.
can’t find an answer anywhere.
Im 55 no problems
they’re not even tight!
Thanks everyone. They were giving me the ick so they’re off!! Blooming baggy anyway. Plus I had paddled through something in them in hospital!! Think it’s worth the risk!!!
I wasn't asked to wear them at all for either the initial lumpectomy or the re-excision. The surgeon did an assessment of risk and asked regarding history of thrombosis or thrombo-embolism. I said I had varicose veins and she said that wasn't a problem. I think it depends on the hospital. On the wall there was an information poster that said the new policy was no compression stockings unless it would be deemed necessary based on individual assessment. It also said something about latest research.
I had lumpectomy surgery and axillary clearance 3 weeks ago and sexy as hell though! I had to wear them for 2 weeks. Bloody pain!
