Hello,

I've been suffering a lot with side effects from Abemicilib, I've been trying to slowly build my body back up and improve my health and fitness. I have started going to a pilates class once a week and it exhausts me but I'm enjoying it.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience of taking a creatine supplement after cancer? I've read different articles on the internet and some say it promoted growth in cancer cells and others say the opposite.

  • Hi EmmyLou welcome to the forum. Why would you want to take this is my first question? I've read a lot about the supplement you are asking about and all point to this being something that when taken promotes the spread of Cancers. Based on all you have been through already to get to this point I wouldn't be tempted to take any supplement unless it was fully safe for me. I'm not sure if that's any help or not it's just my take on your question. Others may have experience of this and I'm sure they will be along soon to offer up their experiences.

  • Hi Gail,

Thank you, I wanted to take it to try and help my fitness improve, so I could feel a little more like myself. I know that seems bonkers but I really miss my old self. Before cancer I was the fittest I've ever been. I was going to the gym 3 times a week and felt great. Then cancer hit like a sledgehammer and it felt like I lost myself.

My looks have changed, my fitness is non existent and I thought this might give me a boost but I was just unsure on what to do.

Cancer is evil and has taken so much from me that I just want to take some control back. I've read a few papers on this supplement and it's conflicting. Obviously I won't take it if it's going to cause me more harm than good.

Thank you again, your advice is greatly received.

    Emma.
