Hi everyone.
after treatment, did anyone have mouth ulcers, gum disease or tooth loss?

my teeth, lower front (I suspect it was due to the amount of vomiting that occurred) have become wobbly, I fear they will need removing.

has anyone experienced tooth loss please?

  • Hi S4maa Welcome to the forum.  It is an interesting question as I have lost all my top teeth since my treatment over 6 years ago now. I think the treatment can and does affect our gums, bone and teeth and is an area often overlooked in the big scheme of things. It's good to regularly visit the dentist and sometimes toothpastes can strengthen teeth and none but they are the best people to advise.

  • Thank you, know I’m not alone.
I went to the dentist & as I knew she confurmed my lower teeth will need to be removed.
    it’s just anything.
Did you get dentures if you don’t mind me asking?

  • Thank you Gail Relaxed

  • Hi S4maa yes I have a top denture and I had to have them specially made as my gum had shrunk back so much. It was worth it though as they for perfectly and look very natural

  • Hi 54maa,

I’m watching this post with interest as I went to the dentist before I started Chemo and I suspect I might have to have my bottom teeth removed due to already having gum disease. I look after my teeth but have a huge phobia of the dentist so I haven’t been as regularly as I should have. It’s so hard to get appointments too!

let us know how it goes. I really feel for you! Xxx

  • I found out today I have gum disease, it is sad feeling.
same, I don’t like dentist either, and with treatments and not feeling well that was neglected.

are you making an appointment? If your teeth feel wobbly it’s best to get them sorted before they are no more.
I have next appointment next month, hopefully to get sorted.
please don’t put this off any longer.

  • I have an appointment in January if I’m allowed to go to it but my whole row of bottom teeth have moved so it makes it difficult to floss. I have a fear of the floss pulling my tooth out! Joy
I don’t finish my chemo until March so I might have to leave it until then. Xxx

  • Colgate Peroxyl Mouthwash with Hydrogen Peroxide

I found this has helped hugely with my loose teeth and gum disease. It’s amazing I would seriously recommend it. It is not very cheap but well worth it!

  • Thank you, I will try this. Dentist advised an electric toothbrush, which I now have.

    thank you,
