Hi, I am due to have a phesgo injection a week before my surgery. When speaking to the hospital pharmacy, they informed me that the oncology department have said it's OK to go ahead with this. However, when speaking to the macmillan nurse she informed me that phesgo can't be given two weeks either side of surgery. I'm so confused and not ssure whether I need to have it or not. If anyone was on phesgo before surgery, could you please share your experience of this, thank you. Xx
Hi, it's so confusing to get conflicting advice. I'd suggest you speak to your oncologist directly as they'd be best to advise. Best wishes
Thanks for your reply, it really is confusing. Pharmacy spoke to oncology and they said to go ahead with it. But macmillan nurse said the surgeon doesn't like you to have it two weeks either side of surgery. I don't want to arrive for surgery and they say they can't do it because I had phesgo the week before. I suppose I may have to wait until the pre op and get them to double check with the surgeon. I just don't like all the uncertainty. Xx
Hi Irishgirl16, thanks , I think that is probably the best thing to do, Have a lovely weekend. Xx
