Hi found a lump went doctors went to breast clinic today to get checked lump was OK but had another mammogram found calfications. I had biosopy and scans done last August after my first mammogram as found calfications they were OK
The lady said she as seen some more on same breast but more central and suspicious got to go back tomorrow fir biosopy so worried. As any one had this it's only 8mths since my 1st mammogram. Thank you
Hi Scouse4 welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear how worried that you are. It may be that there are more calcifications have appeared and thats what they are seeing or they may be in a different part of the breast so not necessarily worst case scenario. They are certainly doing the right thing in taking biopsies and get these checked out for you. It wont feel like that but it is the best thing in the situation. Hope it all goes well for you and that the results turn out to be nothing to worry about for you. We will be thinking of you.
Let us know how you get on xxx.
Thank you Gail they have found different calfications shesaid they look suspicious am lucky they got me in tomorrow fir biosopy just so worried and thinking why dud they miss them last August I had bisopy done last August too.jyst feeling scared at the moment and probably don't make sense xx thank you for answering me xx
Hi Scouse4 did they tell you anything at all today? My marker was put in just prior to surgery and remains in situ as far as I can gather this is to alert future Mammograms to the area where the Breast Cancer for me had been. Is it possible this is what they could be doing with the calcifications? Did they say why they had put the marker in ? xxx Hope you are ok?
Hi Gail all they said they are alot depper in the breast than the ones in August last year very hard to see .they never put markers last August when I had my other biosopy. She said they put the marker in incase need to do more biosopy or other things .they were lovely had about 7 biosopy. All they kept saying was they r very hard to see .thank you for replying I just feel a bit numb but I will be OK back to work tomorrow rake my mind off it family are great xxxx hope you doing OK xxx
Hi Scouse4 hope the day at work has had the desired effect for you and take your mind off things. This could still yet turn out to be something that needs monitored over time but not necessarily a breast Cancer. It make sense what they are saying, as if the markers are in place they will show up on the mammograms in future and it sounds like this has been a challenge to see them hence the markers. Im assuming that the biopsies will have been precautionary.
You keep that chin up for now and please do let me know how you get on. xxx
In May 2015 age 51 I was recalled from my first rountine screening mammogram for 2 areas of calcification (10mm & 5mm). From biopsy I was diagnosed with intermediate DCIS in the 10mm area only. The smaller area was benign. I had a WLE in the July and 15 sessions of radiotherapy in the September. 11mm high grade DCIS was final diagnosis after surgery. A
Oct 18 I had my annual mammogram and results same day. They did an a biopsy on good boob and a week later and after a few additional views all clear.

Hi I had biosopy done after my 1st mammogram last August they were clear they never but a marker in then .I found a lump 3 weeks ago gp sent me to breast clinic went Tuesday gad mamogram then a ulta sound scan she saud lump OK but I looked at yr mammogram and I want more biosopy cause there calfications that look suspicious I saud have the jyst appeared she saud no probably there last time but very faint and deep in my tissue went back for my biosopy yesterday and they put a marker in too .xx so just waiting now to see next thing xxx great u back to normal mammogram xx did up have a mastectomy xxx thank you for answering me x
No. They removed they removed both sets of calcifbia a wide local excision - often called lumpectomy. I requested removes of benign calcifications for peace of mind. U have a small scar & dent top in left quadrant of left breast. About a 1.5-2" scar, No chemo or hormone therapy required just radiotherapy as bears & braces.
At my original biopsy they took 12 samples. No markers left then. I had my results exactly week lare4. How long do you have to wait. The waiting s awful isn't it.
