I have had five sessions of chemo for breat cancer and have started to be anaemic. I dont want a blood transfusion so taking iron tablets and trying to eat more iron.
Any recommendations as I have six weeks to my lumpectomy operation and so being anaemic is not good.
Shame I was told as I became anaemic rather than thus was likely for thisevon chemo.
Suzy.
To be honest your best bet would be an transfusion as We were told in a consultation that Iron Tablets take too long to absorb. If you look at my post you will see what I mean. The Tranfusion did work but unfortunately by the time my partner had it things had changed and it was too late. She had been on Iron tablets for a Number of Weeks but there was little change in Blood Count.
