Just want to ask have anyone had mri and ct scans done before biopsy results.. I've had biopsy done Monday and told they will.be back 11th March...but this weekend I'm having imagins done .. thought scans would be done after biopsy results x
Hello I had a breast MRI 1 week after getting my BC results from a biopsy as I was diagnosed with invasive lobular BC and as I understand the mammogram and ultrasound do not show the tumour or potential spread as clearly as the MRI. I then had a full body CT scan just after starting my chemotherapy. I think like others have replied it depends on hospital but check out anything you need with your breast care nurse.
I had the mammogram + ultrasound and on the same day two biopsies. They booked me for vacuum biopsy and MRI 4 days after this, explanation was that they wanted to be sure they were not missing anything.
When I asked the technician she told me that on screen the margins of my tumor were undefined and that I had a calcifications area. They also cheched my nodes at MRI.
They called me in for the results 4 weeks after mammogram appointment and set the op date for 5 weeks later.
