Wig shop selection

Hello everyone! Apologies for starting it as a new thread, I noticed there have been many discussions and useful information scattered everywhere. But I am at the beginning of my chemotherapy and the more I am searching for a wig, the more confused and overwhelmed I feel.

Can I please ask for a wig shop in London that you can go and choose in real life- not a virtual one- and have a consultation and retouch with a hairdresser if you want?

Many thanks!!

  • Hi,

I've been referred by my hospital to the Fulham Clinic 137 Dawes Road, Fulham SW6 7EB.

They have some to try on. I didn't find one I liked when I went, but they ordered a couple of different ones for me to try. It's a small place, but I think they have a hairdresser linked, as one of the original wigs I looked at could be styled.

Good luck with your treatments. I'm half way through mine.

  • Hello, I’m also looking for wig places in London where I can try them on. Just wondering if you went to Fulham clinic in the end or found somewhere else? Many thanks

  • Hi,

I did and tried on a few, but didn't really like them. They ordered one in for me and it was better than those I'd tried previously,  but actually never wore it - I just felt more comfortable with the scarves etc at the point.

Good luck with your search Hugging

  • The wig shop inside Guy's Hospital is excellent ... I hope you would be able to go there even if you're not a Guy's patient? Give them a call to check. Daughter made an appointment there (I went with her). Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful, we had coffee and lots of laughs - it was a positive experience.

  • I also used this shop.  Also helpful with other products as well.  EG Bras
