Saw bone man the other day and I asked him can either of the above give you extreme bone/joint pain and is it dangerous! To which he replied “zoladronic acid can give you acute phase adverse effects like osteoarthritis of the hand, but usually in older people. Regarding aromatase inhibitors (Anastrazole/letrozole/exemestrane) these can cause joint and some muscle pain caused by decrease in oestrogen levels.” Sadly something we may have to live with but he said “keep active and move frequently!” Hope this helps anyone suffering! Best wishes all xx
Thank you, useful to know, just had 3 rd zoladronic infusion and aching bones but seem to now have arthritis in right hand with two other fingers becoming painful, wondered if it was the acid as well as joint pain and stiffness with anastrozole..agree that keeping moving helps
Hi irshgirl16, what were side effects like when had first zoladronic infusion
Hi, the first one was not great, felt like a really bad flu about 24 hours after and wiped me out, but each subsequent one has had zero side effects, so very strange. Best wishes
Interesting, I have recently had my second Zolendronic Acid infusion and after about 3 weeks have noticed more bone pain, especially in my legs and hips. Thought it was 'old age', but certain,y come on suddenly. Thanks for your post.
