Hi ..I had a lumpectomy and full axillia clearance on Monday and apart from thev dreaded drain was ok but today have woken up feeling really low and sad
Is this normal. X
Thank u in advance xx
Hi, sorry you are feeling low, I think we sometimes get so focused on the treatment plan that we forget the emotional impact of illness and surgery. The journey from diagnosis, through treatment options and surgery is often all consuming and feels like a whirlwind. Sometimes, when we have time to take a breath, the sadness and stress come to the forefront.
i find that I am mostly ok, but there are days when I feel sad, frustrated or just plain cheesed off with it. It’s good to talk when feeling a bit down, and there are lots of us here that have those days.
i like to try to get out for a while if possible, maybe visiting a friend or going for a coffee could help. But I think it is normal to feel sad, but help is out there from macmillan, bc nurses and local support groups if you need
I hope you feel much better very soon xx
