Okay so I wear a scarf to cover my hair and therefore loosing my hair didn’t make me look different but for the last month, my face looks different. My chemo finished last week but I look like a different person. I never wear makeup so I’m not gonna start now. But my eyebrows and eyelashes thinned, my skin doesn’t look as nice, black circles under my eyes look darker, I’ve put on a few kg so my face looks fuller, I think I’m paler and I look ten years older …. I feel like I look sick but people tell me I look fine, just different… when does the chemo look go away ?
I’ve started wearing fake eyelashes as that helps me look less sick, however I do find my whole face goes red like hot flushes - I never had these when I went into early menopause 5 years ago at 48yrs so I’m not sure if it is flushes or a chemo rash - don’t like it and it is blotchy !
