Hi Littlemomma , sorry you find yourself in this situation but hopefully support and shared experiences here will help. I’m not in quite your position but do carry a mutated gene (ATM) which is probably why I got breast cancer, apparently. However as the risk from having my particular mutated gene is moderate rather than high, no further surgery is recommended in my case. Have you joined the BRCA group here? I’ll try to post a link if I can. I think it would be worth posting there as well as in this group, to find someone in your situation. Love and hugs, HFxx

Hi. Yes I went through the same testing as I’ve had breast cancer twice before the age of 50. They were pretty sure I’d have a genetic mutation and I had all the same discussions with them re double mastectomy, ovaries and my daughter but! The testing came back negative much to my consultants surprise so hopefully you’ll have the sabe outcome x

Fingers crossed for you. I’m one of 3 and all of us have had cancer, not all breast, but apparently there’s no link. Sometimes I guess you just get an unlucky gene pool!! Or maybe in further years more genetic factors will be uncovered, I suppose you never really know. All the best xx
