Daily anxiety

Hello everyone

I just wondered if anyone else suffers badly with anxiety? 

I understand that what we are going through is difficult but my anxiety stops me in my tracks.

Any tips very grateful received xxx

    Hi Jax007 suffering from sone degree of anxiety on this cancer journey is normal and to be expected. However, anxiety at the level you describe possibly warrants a discussion with your GP to see if they can help. Sometimes a short course of medication is useful in the short term but longer term some counselling or CBT would also help if it becomes a more permanent thing. Please let us know how you get on. If at all possible try when u start to get anxious to focus on your breathing and keep breathing in through the nose and out through your mouth until you feel that anxiety lessening.  Sending hugs meantime.     I have already had my meds for anxiety increased, but I just feel scared and gloomy every single day.

     Sorry to rant!

  • breathing in fresh air, going outdoors, seeing beauty in trees  birds, plants

    small joys

    cup of hot chocolate in front of a cheery fire, favourite bird in garden, speaking to favourite person

    feeling ok, even if just for awhile

    remembering nothing is forever, hugs, and we need go make best w what we have.

    u will still be stressed a d worry but remember you can put them down for awhile and focus on something else

    BC in 2023, ER + PR- HER2-

    AC and taxol, grade 2a , micro in 1 lymph, 2 surgeries

  • Hi   I have also been suffering with anxiety so I have been seeing a MacMillan counsellor referred by the BCN. It’s free & they understand cancer & I’ve found this to be helpful. So perhaps speak to your BCN to see if that’s something your hospital offers. Good luck 

  • Thank you. I am having a chat with psychological team this week so hopefully that will help. My anxiety is off the scale at times.
