Hi
I had a lumpectomy and SNB on 14 December.
I have tried to do some VERY gentle simple pilates moves in the bedroom just now and I feel worn out.
I only did 9 minutes. Barely moved. But out of breath. I usually go to pilates weekly prior to this happening.
Is this normal?
Hello Mumpsy. I was given a set of very simple exercises to do after the lumpectomy and that was fine. I wonder if you were given the same advice? I don’t know whether pilates is too much for your body after the surgery but if if it is perhaps you take things easier. Have plenty of rest too. I wish you the best.
Just do the Pilates a couple of minutes through out the day , surgery is exhausting on the body , 2 minutes of exercise every couple of hours is very beneficial. Also just do the easy Pilates moves, not stuff like planks which is your entire body weight on your upper body … you can ask to be referred to a physio or find a breast exercise certified Pilates Instructor… I have this certification, I got it for my friend , then ended up with cancer myself , play with a long resistance band to stretch your arms , that really helped me
