Hi everyone, I’ve been diagnosed with TNBC with chemo first with my first treatment having taken place last Thursday, I’m grade 2. How did you feel after your first session? I’ve been tired but tried to potter about and ventured out shopping today for a couple of hours which helped. What are your treatment plans? I realise everyone is different though but found it good to talk on here x
I only lost my sense of taste while having EC. It was worse after the first dose and not as bad after doses two and three.
I did find if I ate really spicy food like curry or chilli I could still taste it. Also pineapple always tasted like pineapple whether it was as the fruit or drink.
Oh wow that’s handy to know, I was advised against eating spicy food what I adore but may give it a little try!
I was diagnosed with TNBC stage 2 too about 3 weeks ago, had my first treatment on Friday and tbh i’ve not bemily that bad, went shopping on Saturday and wrapped Christmas presents on Sunday but was suffering from fatigue all day yesterday, worked half a day today and felt fine, I’ve found apple and ginger juice and water is great for thirst and lavender body cream works well for sleeping x
Hi
I’ve just been diagnosed with TNBC and will be having chemotherapy every 3 weeks - first 3 rounds of EC then Docetaxol.
I had a lumpectomy 4weeks ago and was hoping that I’d only need radiotherapy and hormone therapy but unfortunately that’s not the case.
I’m scared about the effects on how I feel and losing my hair, nails etc.
Good to hear you’re getting through your treatment
Hi Kaza1, I had my second chemo session today. I’m having pembrolizumab, paclitaxel and catboplatin every 3 weeks and pactitaxel by is self for 2 weeks then back to week 1 to gave all, after 12 weeks it will be EC. I asked if I could get my eyebrows waxed and my nurse said yes so that was nice to do today, not sure if I will lose them and I asked about getting my nails done. She said yes yo thus aswell as the Biab/Gel nail will protect my own nails! I didn’t realise this and was pleasantly surprised. She says to keep short but in the long run could protect them so maybe worth a try? I don’t anyone that has so would be worth hearing if anyone has?? The cold cap was tough today but preserving and will look at the gauze or some sort of better protection while having treatment next week. Let me know how you get on, this community is priceless for us all and has really helped me xx good luck with your treatment too xx
You have the same plan as me I think. The EC was tough. Hair loss, taste loss, bad head, fatigue. I tried the cold cap but with the hair loss after the first round I just didn’t have the energy to care. Just shaved my head on a number 1 and felt 100% better for not caring any more.
D is already very different in the effects. My nails have gone black and were so sore. My whole body was sore and achey after the last round. Felt really rough but it was done in a week.
Only 2 more rounds and then radiotherapy. Can’t wait for the chemo to be done.
It’s not as bad as I thought it would be but it’s no breeze.
You had the results from your Operation yet?
Oh gosh thank you for that, I’ve didn’t know about the nail discolouration at all that sound awful. I had heard that the EC could/ would be bad so if my hair starts to come out I too will shave that’s a given! With my diagnosis I’m having 6 months of chemo and op afterwards. There seems to be so many different variations of TNBC and treatments and you said you had an op first?
Hi,I’m having my second chemo session tomorrow and having pembrolizumab, paclitaxel and catboplatin every 3 weeks and pactitaxel by is self for 2 weeks then back to week 1 and then after 12 weeks it will be EC just the same as you. After 6 months of Chemo again just like yourself i’m then having surgery (mastectomy on the left breast). I’m also doing the cold cap so hopefully i can keep persevering with this.
Oh yes that’s exactly the same plan. If would be good to keep in touch and see how it goes for us and maybe share tips/ ideas of how we are doing? Not sure how you do it on this platform but can hopefully figure It out! Good luck tomorrow xx
