Hi SarahBear I had a lumpectomy and I was advised to take 4-6 weeks off work. I ended up taking 5 weeks,,but probably could have gone back after 2-3 weeks. The first few days post op I was quite sore, but I was lucky and the scar healed nicely.
It's important to do the exercises you'll be given as this helps to get the movement back in your arm, My advice is to listen to your body, do as much or as little a you feel you can and be kind to yourself. Best wishes
