Cording?

Hi,

I've started waking up with pain down the inside of my arm and elbow, especially when I touch it. It seems better after a shower and my exercises and isn't really causing me trouble unless I  raise my arms etc, and then it feels like friction burning/chaffing. Could this be cording? I have an appointment with the surgeons next Monday, but don't know if I should ring the BCN beforehand. Any advice? I'm 2 weeks post mastectomy and lymph node dissection.

  • it could just be nerves regrowing from lymphs if you had them removed,i had tingly annoying pain rushes in my arm, massage and exercises help. cording will actually look like lines under the skin, and you can sort of flick your arm to stop them or rather break it up, massage also helps, i bought a loght compression arm band to stop it being annoying and it worked for me, just be sure to buy the right size, you can ask bc nurse if unsure

  • This does sound more like nerves I had some cording for a few months and you can see the cords under the skin, it was quite obvious for me to see that's what it was.

  • Thank you,

    • I will have a look at a compression sleeve. I did consider having one around in case of lymphodema, so I'll give it a try. I didn't think of nerves as it isn't constant pain.

I can't see anything, but I'm not exactly Twiggy. I'll keep going for now and mention it next week in clinic.
