I’ll be having a mastectomy and lymph node removal op soon. What can I wear after surgery and during recovery? I always feel the cold as I’m disabled and confined to a wheelchair.
Agree - lots of button up things - blouses, cardigans, nightshirts etc. I also bought a few cheap vests bigger sizes than needed and put them on from bottom up rather than over the head. I used these when I couldn’t wear a bra as it’s not always comfortable wearing a bra.
Hope your on goes well.
Hi Corrielea
my hospital supplied me with a front opening bra ready for my mx though I didn’t bother wearing until I had the drains out - I just wore vests instead as it was more comfortable and you can slide them down to your waist when you’re getting checked by the breast nurses.
As others have said any tops with buttons as it hurt lifting my arms up early on after the op.
I have since got lovely bras from M&S - they have a great range of post-surgery bras.
I hope your op goes well x
