Hi there,
I’m new here - my mum’s metastatic breast cancer has recently spread to her brain and things are progressing very quickly. Her balance and mobility is being significantly affected so my dad and I would like to get a stairlift fitted to help her. We have been told that hiring a stairlift is a thing?? If anyone has any experience of this and could recommend some websites or companies or just general advice that would be fantastic.
Thanks so much
Hi sophnh and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I can't help with any recommendations for stairlift companies but thought I'd suggest that you also join and post this question in the family and friends group. If you'd like to do that, clicking on my link will take you straight there where you can then start a new post once you've joined. You could also use the 'search' function in the group to see if anyone has made any recommendations previously.

Hi, and welcome though sad for your reasons for joining. If it’s of any help, we were recommended by an OT to call Age UKfor stair lift help for hubs in the last few months of his life. Think in terms of asking her BCN or a community nurse from GP Surgery for an urgent community OT referral, as that’s most likely the best way forward, they may well have a few ideas to help.
hugs xxx
