will everyone know i'm on chemo once i loose my eyebrow/eyelash hair? i'm not worried about my actual hair on my head cause i wear a scarf anyway.

  • Hi Iman

i am 4 weeks post chemo and I did not totally lose my eyebrows and lashes. They tinned out but I still have them.

I lost my actual hair but I love my wig Grinning

I also did a free an on line course with the charity Look Good Feel Better and they had a fantastic tutorial on eyebrows / eyelashes.

I feel exactly the same about people knowing

  • Hi AMA70,

Congratulations on finishing chemo.  That is good to hear about the potential of not loosing them...though i was looking forward to loosing my mustache lol.  I never wear makeup, but i guess i could look into it if I need it. Thanks for your response.

  • Hi, I didn’t lose my eyelashes, but lost my hair from everywhere else. I wore a brilliant wig with a long fringe (Id always styled my hair with a fringe) and no one noticed my loss of eyebrows. X

  • I'm still on chemo and I haven't lost all my eyebrows or eyelashes.

Lashes have thinned but only noticeable to me, likewise my brows have thinned but my hat tends to cover that up.

Don't worry - not many people are brave enough to ask questions anyway.

  • I had weekly chemo for 12 weeks and didn’t lose many eyelashes.  They were a little thinner and my brows much thinner but I used an eyebrow pencil and became pretty good at making them look thicker.   The hair is more of a drama.  X

  • Your eyebrows might just. thin and you can use eyebrow pencil so it does not show. Eyebrows and lashes fall out around 3 months, and grow back surprisingly fast after chemo stops It wont necessarily be obvious. You could do the look good feel better course for makeup tips to hide your missing lashes. xx
