Hello everyone
That’s me a year post surgery and radiotherapy and mammogram is clear hurrah. I was stage 2 and group 2 ER positive breast cancer. However a couple of months ago my upper back was sore and I saw the Gp. (to be honest it’s a lot better but still giving twinges) I did mention to breast nurse and she said to be on the safe side we will do a whole body bone scan I am on zoldronic for bone protection twice a year anyway as well as letrozole. I had the said scan yesterday followed by CT scan. I was a lot more perturbed at the Ct as wasn’t expecting it and did say to the technician is that normal she said yes we have to check everything in case we miss anything. However what sent me into total panic was when she said GOOD LUCK!! As I was leaving. My mind went into overdrive. Now I’m thinking the worst. Thanks for reading x
Hi Hennie - I hope your results come back ok.
I was stage 2 and awaiting surgery in May. After my mri, my bc surgeon decided that my lymph nodes were also infected and that my tumour had been there a while despite seeing the breast clinic twice within 7 months. I had all type of tests and scans - luckily it hadn’t spread any where in the body and I am extremely grateful for this.
Waiting for those results are painstakingly scary - keep yourself busy and as the technician says they just need to check to be on the safe side.
That sounds scary and I know the waiting is agonising. I'm in a similar situation. My biopsy was positive for BC recurrance 8 weeks ago. Since then I have had a CT scan - they rang me and said it was inconclusive, so 2 weeks ago I had a PET CT. I will get results of that on Friday but I had a call this morning from the hospital asking me to attend an urgent MRI scan on my spine. I am now completely terrified that what my consultant said was a small 8mm recurrence is in fact a much much bigger problem.
Hello unfortunately my bone scan came back showing cancer on my spine. It’s treatable but not curable. I have to have urgent mri and ct scan and there will be a team discussion on Tuesday on what thplans are. As you can imagine I am devastated as my mammogram was clear. My head is just all over the place
Hello there.I have been following this link but only now got Wi-Fi back. I’m gutted for you that this is the situation BUT I have a male friend who has cancer which is treatable not curable and believe me, they are ‘so on the ball’ with him! He’s now in his 5th year and in great health with regular checks and apps with oncology. This is the biggest shock in our lives but so many have lived positive, happy lives alongside our ailment. We’re with you all the way, sending loads of positive vibesxxx
Thank you have given me hope hearing about your friend. I am so glad he’s doing ok. X
