Hi I have completed chemo and herceptin injections. I have been given the all clear but now have preventative medication to take. Hormone therapy and an extension to the herceptin. I have started 3 yes worth of infusions every 6vmonths to protect my bones. The extension to the herceptin, which is 6 tablets a day comes with a further 6 tablets to stop diahorea! Plus an anti sickness.
I felt elated at having finished treatment but now seem to be going backwards, psychologically it is a lot to deal with.
Anyone got any advice.
Hi, I can empathise as I am 2 years post surgery and under the same treatment regime, including daily letrozole tablets. I try to look at this as just part of life now and I don't let it get in the way and don't really think about it, but it's hard. And I find many people don't understand that it's not “over”.
It might help you to chat through how you're feeling with the lovely folks here at Macmillan as they might have some other ideas on support and advice. You can call them on 0800 800 0000. Best wishes
