It's 7 years since i had radiotherapy on my left breast area after a lumpectomy.
Recently i have had strong shoulder pain on the left shoulder joint, collar bone, and shoulder blade on my back.
Back is very itchy and aching in the same area.
Could this be the result of radiotherapy?

Hello SandraC
I had radiotherapy around 11 months ago, lumpectomy left breast and 5 rads. All good.
I'd be interested to see what comes back from our fellow survivors, as I too have quite intense shoulder pain, mainly at the front and right in the joint area.
I am tempted to link this to the overall aches and pains that anastrazole are giving me. I might ask a nurse on here.
Much love, Hopeful one :-)
thank you Hopeful one. I'm not taking any medication now so i don't know. I have been discharged. But this is recent. I have also had pains in my scar area and two more check-ups for the possibility of recurring cancer. Both were negative. I'm wondering about bone thinning perhaps. I've had no trauma to my shoulder. Just recently had a chest X ray - maybe it will reveal something. My GP says that scar tissue can react to the climate! but this feels like it is under my shoulderblade - in my chest too. Oh good luck with the overall aches and pains. I took Letrozole for a while and it was horrible. But they do go. Hang in there.
