Hi everyone, I had my last EC chemo on Friday, had a few side effects incl racing heart etc. Has anyone had floaters and lights in their eyes? Had these since Friday
I would phone your red card nurses and check with them. It's not something I had but anything unusual I phoned the red card team to double check.
I’ve had no end of problems with my eyes (stems back yrs) but seemed worse through chemo, so much so my eye consultant sent me for brain scan but all clear. Said chemo is highly unlikely to affect eyes. We’re now looking why my vision has reduced so much in a yr. See your optician for full check. BWx
Most of us have changes to our eyes as we get older, including posterior vitreous detachment, when the vitreous starts to pull away from the retina. Floaters and lights can be a sign of this. I suggest you see an optician as soon as possible so they can check this and give you advice.
Hi, I noticed my eyesight was instantly shocking after the first EC.
One evening I had what appeared to be raindrops falling in black & white speckles. Generally my eyesight seems worse.
I mentioned it to the Oncologist, she said it shouldn't cause eyesight issues but to see the optician for a check if I was worried.
I've noticed since that it appears to be linked to the fatigue and improves after a fews days post chemo.
I'll probably wait until after the final round and go for an eye test anyway.
