Hi dear breasties,
I recently had a mammogram, and bingo! I have been called back to have further tests after a shadow showed in the scar tissue. To say I am absolutely terrified is an understatement; I just can't believe this nightmare is starting again! I was diagnosed in 2006 with multifocal DIC, probably stage 2, strongly hormone positive, and lymph node involvement. I have gone through the whole battery of drugs: chemo, surgery, tamoxifen, oophorectomy, and letrozole... All the non recreational drugs available.
Please, please, please, any similar stories?

Hi WildBreast
Sorry to hear that your mammogram picked up a shadow in the scar tissue and that you may have breast cancer again. Hopefully it's nothing but if it is rest assured that breast cancer is not the death sentence it once was and it's very treatable. Treatments have come on a lot since you first had breast cancer in 2006.
I had a CT scan back in June because I had cancer in one of my lymph nodes and it showed up a problem with the scar tissue in my left breast, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2020 and had surgery in March 2021. They sent me for a ultrasound and a biopsy which unfortunately turned out to be a local recurrence of triple negative breast cancer. However that's not to say that will happen to you, everyone is different.
Wishing you the best of luck with your further tests.
Best wishes
