While having chemo. I developed skin problems with my hands and feet. Severe peeling and bleeding soles. Confused I'm still having these problems even though chemo stopped a year ago. My doctor has given me creams etc. Helps for a while. But then. Back again it flares. Walking is painful. Any suggestions????

  • Hi Boo329

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your hands and feet even though chemo stopped for you a year ago.  While I don't have any suggestions for you I noticed that you haven't had any replies yet so I thought I'd reply to you to move you to the top of the discussion.  Hopefully someone will be along soon with some suggestions for you.

    Best wishes

  • Hi  I had something similar during chemo although perhaps not quite so severe. My main problem was redness and a burning sensation on my feet and constantly peeling skin. Sometimes they felt like they were in fire and walking was painful. I was recommended to use a cream with an ingredient called Urea in it, minimum 10% content. This worked really well. Eucerin is one brand but there are a few options.

Two years post chemo and my feet still get very very dry and will start peeling if I don’t use a proper foot cream on them every day.

Hope you find something that works for you x
