Hi I had breast cancer stage 3 years ago.ive been having stomach issues had a scan that shows a lung mass .had another scan and then biopsy last Thursday.juat spoken too my breast care urse who's been away .and she told ne too prepare for the worst as they think it's either lung ir breast spread.im absolutely terrified .hoping too get results next Tuesday.could they be wring?
I can't help in anyway except to let you know I shall be thinking of you. It does sound as if you will need more treatment which is never pleasant but I'm sure your hospital will do their best for you. And at the moment you don't know exactly what the results will show. The nurse is just guessing so yes, she could be wrong. If she is right, it is better discovered so it can be dealt with than left untreated.
I hope all goes well and I have sent a big hug. You know we are all here whenever you need to express your feelings and if you don't want to start a new thread each time use Awake where there is always someone ready to listen. They have a lot of experience too so maybe someone has dealt with your worries.
Take care. Keep in touch.

The not knowing and waiting is the worse feeling ever!! I’m waiting my senitel lymph node biopsy to see if it’s spread there and can’t help but keep thinking about it thinking the worst. You’ve won the battle before and you’ll find the strength to hit the next battle head on. How many times I’ve woke hoping it’s a bad dream so I can imagine how frightened you are thinking the worst. Just know that you don’t need to fight it alone. Whether you want to scream, cry, rant or just chat. We will be here. Huge hug for you x
I have experienced such mistakes. The only definite answer is the pathology report. Scans can only say what looks suspicious, but not what is actually is.
I think your nurse was out of order saying such things to you without having definitive data that proves what exactly is in your lung.
Hi yrs dident help with the anxiety at all!.had the phone call today too confirm secondry breast cancer on the lung.feeling so scared numb .terrified of cymotherpay as it name me very poorly ladt ti and effects Mr alot still now, without anything else.gutted.have no idea how too tell family members etc all over again.especually my adult sons ,I just can't face it.god this is hard
Is there a Maggie's in your area? They will be able to help with breaking the news to the people you need to share with, in a face-to-face environment, privately, within their centre, where your people can have the opportunity to ask questions and get support too.
Macmillan may be able to help in a similar way too, depending on what they offer in your area.
There are several new treatment options these days that were not available even a couple of years ago, depending of course on the specific circumstances. Possibly there is now an option or a combination of treatment that would produce less side-effects, your oncologist will be able to say.
I agree with you wholeheartedly, this is hard.
Thank you yes I used too go too a maggies before and they wete great.i will defiently pop in again soon .and thanks for reminding me there are other options.my mass is quite small so even hopefully for sugery maybe .I just don't no.can I ask what you situation is?
Thinking and praying for you. What a shock but you will get all the help and support you need from the medics. With you in spirit (this is a fear of us all) xxxx
