How am I supposed to feel? Life on pause yet again 5 surgeries (2 cancers) 1 treatment so far & further treatment to come! I’m exhausted today 3 days after 2nd opp for removal of breast cancer lump, emotional, let down by family & friends - head battered!!
Hi, I am very sorry to read your diagnosis. This is a lot to take on, and it’s no wonder you are exhausted - emotionally, physically and mentally no doubt. You will be tired after the operation. I’ve had two mastectomies, one following diagnosis, the other on healthy tissue, and I was shattered after each of them.
Yes, it is a head battering. I was badly let down by my partner, and I called it a day soon after diagnosis. I had enough on. This will sound a bit odd, but some things got easier without him, although as I was on chemotherapy, it was no picnic of course.
We are always here if you ever want to reach out. It’s a friendly, supportive group. The free MacMillan phone line, where you can talk to the specialist nurses, are brilliant. They will explain things for you, or give you more clinical advice, support and information, if you need that too. Xx
Pauline, I know it is incredibly difficult- I myself was diagnosed with breast cancer and my surgery is planned for 10th July, mastectomy and reconstruction. It is difficult to stay sane but please know bad things do not last forever! You have friends here who feel like you do! Don't give up on yourself! Stay strong and fight!!!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
