Why am I so exhausted all the time, eyes so heavy can barely keep awake. Haven't even started any treatment yet. Only diagnosed 3 weeks ago and am completely zapped of any energy. I have no chance once treatment has actually started
Could it just be related to mental exhaustion and stress? Not sleeping as soundly?
Hello, I’m sorry that your have received a diagnosis. When I got my own, I was running on adrenaline. My house had never been so clean!! It was my brains way of coping, but we are all different. Looking back, I was tired and jaded pre-diagnosis - I remember that quite well, and I’ve read that cancer can do that to you. I felt like I had the rug pulled from under my feet at the hospital, what with all the tests and scans etc - perhaps you feel the same - and that is tiring. Subconsciously you might be resetting various parts of your life too - what is important and what isn’t necessary for example.
And you do have a chance once you start your treatment plan. Most of us feel better once that is in place. xx
I felt exactly the same - literally couldn’t stay awake. I think it’s the mental stress. I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago as well. Good luck with your treatment. I start chemo next Friday.
Thankyou for your reply. I think you maybe right. Still working full time until my surgery date, need a distraction
I have surgery on the 17th July, they think just radiotherapy but will know more after surgery. Good luck with your treatment x
