So I e been on Anastrozole for a year now still having 6 monthly infusions of zoldronic acid and have just started getting headaches. I had an mri 2 weeks ago and the nurse I spoke with said she didn’t think it was anything serious but then I get a call to go for an appointment tomorrow to discuss the mri with the oncologist- should I be worried cos I am crapping myself.

last time they asked me to just pop down they told me I had breast cancer stage 3 luckily that’s all sorted it was a year ago but I’m so frightened

anykne had similar?

  • Hi, I used to have really bad headaches when taking Anastrozole so I stopped taking for about 6 weeks....and the headaches stopped? Well I would still get a bit of a headache occassionally but nowhere as severe.  I've just started taking Anastrazole again every other day so I'll see how it goes. I never reported any of this to my BCN as I was beginning to feel like a hypochondriac.

I do hope all your tests are positive, at least they are listening to you and taking your concerns seriously. Fingers crossed all will be well!

  • Hi, oh I hate this, when you are called in for an appointment and left hanging with it. It could just be to tell you that all is ok, and you think, why didn’t you just tell me that. They are certainly being thorough, and following up the results of the scans in a timely manner, which is reassuring. With respect to the headaches … I had these in March /April. I’d been on Anastrazole 20 months then. But then I remembered that I’m allergic to tree pollen, and have been for many years. Fancy forgetting that.  So in desperation, I took a 24hr antihistamine. Within the hour, the headache had gone. I carried on with these for a few days, and it never came back. Just an idea if you have ever had hay fever - as the pollen count is currently off the scale where I live.. Xx

Not similar but I've had a problem with right eye getting weaker, burst vessels and sight not great since chemo, drugs etc which finished Oct. Eye surgeon casually said "let's do a brain and occular scan"!!!! It was done urgently on a Saturday morning and I thought I'd have to wait 2 weeks for results.  On Tues Surgeons number came up on my phone.  SO scared.  Said he'd rung me to out me out of my misery and all was CLEAR! Don't panic! Things are done to cover all eventualities.  With you all the way xxxxx
