I have a skin lesion in my DIEP flap that was done almost 5 years ago, I had an appointment yesterday at the clinic and they think it is probably a fat necrosis , but they took a biopsy just in case.
I am interested to hear from anyone that has had anything similar and their’s developed?
Hello hdsurvivor
I am sorry to see that you have developed a skin lesion and have had to have a biopsy.
I have not experienced a fat necrosis but have just seen your post and am replying to help move it back to the top in the hope that someone who has experienced this replies. I hope that this is ok.
In the mean time I did a search on the forum for fat necrosis and there are several people who have had this. If you want to do a search yourself, go into the breast cancer forum and type fat necrosis in the search bar. You can then see other peoples experiences.
I hope this helps while you are waiting for the biopsy results.
Jane
Thank you @jane2511, I did do the search for fat necrosis and all the posts I read it was a lump rather than a lesion like mine was, the consultants seem to think it is a fat necrosis trying to escape the body so I am not too worried at the moment, keeping calm for now, but I suspect that will be a different story when I get closer to results day!
