Good afternoon everyone , I have just joined the group and have already felt reassured by some of the pairs I have read , it’s so nice to be among those who understand.
I was diagnosed with a stage 2 lump last September which I had removed along with 4 lymph nodes . So my question is does anyone still have pain and discomfort under their arms from this procedure? My breast scar etc is fine .
I am trying not to worry but am now wondering whether I should get it checked out as I am about to start taking Tamoxifen which I hear comes with a whole new set of papa wo symptoms .
Thankyou in advance x
Hi . I'm in the same boat. I'm wondering why the pains are back and could tamoxifen be causing things. I did have a lot of nerve damage but have that controlled by meds. Maybe worth an ask x
I am 3 years down the road from an mx and a lymphectomy and am still very tender under my armpit, especially if I overuse my arm or wear something with
tight seams under the arm.
I think it's more to do with where the drains came out than the lymph node removal though, as it's all around the area where the scar from the stitch for that is. Tamixifen hasn't caused any new pains around the scar for me. Worth checking with your BCN if you're concerned.
Hello,
I'd like to share my experience. In Feb I had a mastectomy and 5 lymph nodes removed.
I've been massaging my arm pit every night and have just gone back to basic yoga classes. I'm on Letrozole which is giving me joint/muscle pain. Very very slowly my right arm, arm pit and pectoral muscle are starting to feel stronger. In yoga I've been doing alot of chain movements in my arms to strengthen them. I think it's all helping, just have to keep going with it.
I feel like it all came from removing the nodes and small part from the mastectomy.
Xx
