Hi,
Looking for some advice,I was on tamoxifen for 4 years and during that time I had periods not regularly tho maybe every couple of months, towards the end of the 4th year my periods stopped,at this time I was diagnosed again with breast cancer, due to this I stopped the tamoxifen, since stopping (about a month) I have started to bleed it's very heavy and I'm losing clots, this has now been going on for 8 days... has anyone experienced this ? Do I ride it out or see my GP...I was having some pain at first but that stopped after a few days, the bleeding is so bad I cant leave the house for fear off leaking...and the clots are a lot bigger than a fifty pence piece!!
Hello LisaM
I am sorry to hear that you have had breast cancer and that are now experiencing heavy bleeding after stopping the tamoxifen.
I would advise that you do speak to your GP as soon as you can regarding the bleeding.
I would even consider getting advice from NHS111 ( as it's the weekend) as you say you are passing clots- even if the pain has stopped.
Heavy bleeding needs to be evaluated just to be on the safe side. It may well be due to stopping the tamoxifen but it's better to get checked out.
