Hi all, I just had my first cycle of Docetaxal after 4 x EC. I had the normal side effects with EC but this is me on day 4 after 1st Doc and my body is aching all over! Can anyone advise if this will get better?
Yes! I mean mine was 4 years ago but boy I remember those aches! It does get better….I used Epsom salts in bath, anything to help in a warm bath, painkillers….and rest…I remember the pain lasting a while easing then wham back in for next session! An electric blanket might help….sorry can’t give you great news….but hang in there! You are doing great!
Hiya if you are feeling rough please don't hesitate to call your emergency red card nurse. I have just had my first cycle of docetaxel after 4 of ec and day 4 started feeling rough. I remember my cancer unit sister saying to me if you don't feel you can get out of bed then something is wrong call red card. I was sent to hospital for blood tests and they found I was neutropenic and they admitted me to hospital. Don't want to panic you but might be worth checking. I'm about to have cycle 2docetaxel but my oncologist is seeing me face 2 face beforehand.
Beginning to feel a bit better now, am able to get out of bed just as just aches, pains and tiredness. I also have an appt with my oncologist on wed via video call will let him know how I’ve been feeling.
How are you doing? Hope you are feeling a bit better. I start my next cycle of docetaxel tomorrow. Oncologist has reduced my dose to 75 percent so fingers crossed. He wanted to delay my treatment by a week but as he could see how well I am he agreed not to so as not to affect my holiday beg June.
I’m doing alright with painkillers only one day of staying in bed all day . Are you managing to eat ok it caused a lot of acid reflux for me . I hope your next treatment goes well . I hope you enjoy your holiday also
I've not had a big an appetite and yes I've had some acid reflux. Amazing how different one drug can be to another. My constipation is also finally easing - so much for the opposite on this drug. Oncologist given me additional laxatives for next cycle. Hilarious as when we saw him first time he said make sure you have imodium in the house so we rushed out to buy and haven't used once!
Literally the same for me funny how you can read one thing then the other happens ! Well I wish you the best in your journey
Hi, Just spoke to my Oncologist today, he is going to reduce the dose for my last three cycles, he said I shouldn’t feel as bad I was with the first one (thank god)!!
