Hello, I had a lumpectomy for grade 2 lobular cancer and have now been prescribes Leprozole for 5 years, Reading the leaflet about it, it can cause lots of side effects (they couldn't prescribe Tamoxifen as i have have a history of DVT). Anyone else on Leprozole, and how are you coping with it? Thanks in advance!

  • Hi, been on it five months now, first couple of months suffered aches and mood swings, been taking evening primrose and star flower tablets which seem to have helped greatly, so worth a try.

Wishing you all the best for the future x

If you're saying Letrozole then I've had no issues in 5 months so far. I have not heard if Leprozole but I guess all these long term drugs can affect people so differently.  I wish you well xx

  • I have been on it for years! I get muscle and joint aches….try different brands to see what works best for you. I have Accord but on occasion have been given other brands….boy….you know! The pains/aches are amplified! My pharmacist is great and now only gIves me Accord brand. Don’t gI’ve up keep trying….I have bought a small electric blanket for under my legs in the evening….or a hot water bottle. Apart from the aches I’m fine….put on a few pounds but what the hell!

  • I'm the same as galligirl. Been on it coming up to a year now and find that the brands make a massive difference. I also have monthly zoladex injections so get hot flushes as well as the joint pains. I was initially put on tamoxifen but had to come off it due to dvt risk. I also ask for accord as when i have other brands the pains are worse and i get horrendous headache. Cipla was terrible.  You'll find a brand that suits you, the trouble is even though your gp specifies a brand the chemist doesn't always deliver. I've moved to an independent chemist for this reason. You'll find the best way of dealing with your side effects, if you have any as not everyone does. Good luck x
