Just had the call nobody wants. Coasting along ok after breast cancer treatment had a CT scan as I complained about sore back. Results back there is a spot on my lung - they are unsure if it is to do with repeated chest infections or if it’s a spread. I’m so scared.
Dear Kayb, I’m so sorry you have received worrying news and it would be very easy to say “put it out of your mind till you have more information “ but we all know that’s not possible. Repeated chest/lung infections (like skin rashes or grazed knees, will invariably leave a mark which hopefully fade it time). How soon before discussion on next course of action? I really hope this is indeed, a minor blip and nothing to worry about…please keep in this loop….I have everything crossed for you xxxxx
Are they testing further? If you have any other scans or x- raya from before they can compare. I how that they clarify it soon, as the wait is the worst feeling:( xxxx
The MDT team will discuss on Thursday and I will hopefully hear from the consultant then as well - if not Tuesday . Thank you for your kind words just feel worn out today xx
Thanks yes should be more clarity after Thursday but it’s back to the waiting which is so draining, thought I had left the fear of Thursday’s behind xx
Hi Kayb
I'm in exactly the same place. I had trouble breathing so they did a CT scan. Nothing on my lungs and they found out my breathlessness was caused by megaloblastic anemia but the scan showed three spots on my liver. They told me not worry and organised an ultrasound. They were able to tell two were cysts but they aren't sure about the third one. I have an MRI on Friday morning. I'm barely functioning at the moment, I made the mistake of looking up the stats on breast cancer that has metastases in the liver and haven't slept properly in two weeks. I know exactly how you feel and my thoughts are with you, all I want is to know as soon as possible.
