Hi. I was a member about 9-10 years ago (I think) when I was diagnosed with DCIS. I had a right side single mastectomy then, as no further treatment was needed, I had DIEP reconstruction a few months later. I have recently been having tests for another condition i've developed and those tests included a CT scan. I saw my consultant yesterday and he is going to instruct my GP to refer me back to the breast clinic as the scan showed nodules in the reconstructed breast. He said it's nothing sinister so not to worry but, if thats the case, why am I being referred back. That isn't the only referral on the back of the CT scan as 2 other potential issues were spotted so I am understandably worried. In fact, I am really scared that the cancer may be back. I'm older with lots of other health issues and don't think i can go through all that again!
Bless you! I've just gone through a recurrent after 25yrs, under went full mastectomy, now having scans for other issues on same side. Its ok to be scared, its a natural emotion.
Thinking of you, hugs being sent.
Remember we are all in this together, I've now resolved myself that my boobs have served their purpose, now gone sixty happy to gone flat chested, as long as that is where it stays.
All the best, remember you are beautiful.xx
