I have been taking Anastrozole for 3 months, I am still receiving herceptin and I have just finished a week of radiotherapy.
l am having problems with lower backache and knee pain, I have started taking my Anastrozole at night to see if it makes any difference to my joint stiffness, I am 57 and I feel very old now, I can walk and move about but I have to first push through the initial pain, after that my mobility is fair!
Is there a pain killer option other than ibuprofen & paracetamol also does it improve with time?
I believe that Anastrozole, like Tamoxifen and Letrozole (which I'm on) all give you joint pain. I've been on Let for 4 months and feel ancient first thing in morning! I take mine at 7pm with dinner. The only way I've found, without taking further drugs is to walk regularly and briskly twice a day. I know its not for everyone. my oncologist did say if you're REALLY suffering come back and we can try a different one but I'm loathe to change now! I wish you well xx
