Had a biopsy done under anethestic as my core biopsy had some rogue cells. Get my results tomm . My surgeon said I might need further surgery . Feeling nervous .
Hello AnnaH,
I can understand how you feel. I was in the same position before. Think of it this way, the surgeon will decide with the multidisciplinary team what is appropriate and suitable for you. If you do need further surgery that means they are very thorough. I had two surgeries because the margins showed the cancer had spread nearby. They had to clear all the affected tissues even if it meant mastectomy.
If it helps, write as many questions you have before you go to the meeting. It also helps to find out about your case through cancer research website and MacMillan.
Be strong and all the best.
I was feeling OK about it all. But nerves are kicking in thanks for your reply xx
A phone consultation is ok . Just make sure you do ask for clarity if something is not clear as I found that they talk using terminology that is foreign to me sometimes. Record your conversation if you wish to so that you can replay it and make sense of it all.
