Hi I’m new to the site and just had a few questions. My lumpectomy and lynph node removal was rescheduled from 16th December to 5th January. Does anyone else feel fatigue and does this go once the tumour is removed? Also got a massive blind spot on my chin does your skin change ? Also had the magnetic pin in the tumour ready for surgery but can you excercise with it in ?

many thanks

  • I had the same operation in May, I think you maybe feeling tired due to all that is happening, and it is a very upsetting time for you and the people close to you. Your skin may just be a reaction to stress, as for exercise, I am not a professional person but I don’t see any reason why you cannot continue with your exercise, it  may help you feel better.  I wish you all the very best for the operation and the future.

  • Hello  and welcome to the site none of us wanted to join.

I tend to agree with Tilly, I would say the tiredness is due do all the stress of this, waiting on the operation, going for tests, etc and not to mention the time of the year and Christmas - it maybe that you have been on working on overdrive and now it is starting to hit you..... I do believe once you have had your operation and 'it' is 'out' you will start to feel so much better.

Again, skin could be a reaction to being run down and stressed etc - along with the change in weather it triggers so many changes (my skin is so dry and flakey - just can't get on top of it).

Exercise, like Tilly says can't see why not - although answering from how I think, I would say don't do anything over ambitious in the chest area - and wear a sports bra for support - after all it's not many days to go - so I'd say stick to gently exercise where the chest is concerned.

If you ever feeling like chatting or even asking the same question in the 'AWAKE' thread there are others in there that may be able to guide you better than me.

Wishing you all the very best xx

I'm hoping this makes sense - only my mind says one thing and my fingers type whatever they like x
  • It’s just that I have the magnetic chip in the tumour and unsure if it will move etc if I exercised x
