Hi I’ve been diagnosed with lymphoedema in my arm I’m devastated I was hoping to go back to work as a hairdresser next month but now don’t know if this will be feasible it’s swollen but not painful at moment waiting for compression band can anyone give feedback of living and working with it
Hi, I’ve got it in my right side (chest wall, armpit, flank). Occasionally I feel it creeping into the upper arm. For me, the lymphodoema exercises are crucial. Touch wood, I can control it pretty much wit( the exercises, and a couple of days of increasing the number of times I do them, has so far dispersed it for me. I started off with a compression band, and this did give relief quickly. The thing is that sometimes you can think it’s almost gone away, and then hey presto it’s back again. For me there is no rhyme or reason to it, and I step up the exercises again. You should get a leaflet about these. It doesn’t stop me from doing anything now.
