Hi
I was diagnosed on 7th November 2021 with IDC 8mm hormone positive following my 3rd routine mammogram at 56.
Surgery on 7th December all good and 5 sessions of RT finished beginning of February. Then 5 years of anastrozole
I have just had my first year mammogram and got the all clear together with GP deciding to do a full range of blood tests ( full blood count, bone profile, kidney/ liver function plus cholesterol) which were all normal. I only asked for my cholesterol to be checked as aware Anastrozole can raise it for some so having all that checked was bit anxiety raising but great to have the reassurance that all looks OK
I was on generic anastrozole for 9 months before taking a break due to joint pain and am now on the branded version Arimidex which, so far, seems to be suiting me better so fingers crossed that continues
I remember only too well how scared I was this time last year so wanted to share that I have come out the other side and back to living my life, albeit it a bit more stiffly!
Sending love to all having to navigate a BC diagnosis xxx
Hi Jurassicgirl it’s good to get through a milestone and share your positive story. I’ll be 5 years post diagnosis next year. There are those who are further along. Best Wishes xx

That's a great update Jurassicgirl! We need more people to come back to share these stories of people who have come out the other side.
