I had brochures during and post treatment about healthy eating. A lot of it is common sense to me and I don't eat badly. However, some of the things that were on the avoid list are things like hot chocolate and malted drinks. I love the occasional instant choc ovaltine. I will probably still have them but does anyone know why we should avoid these. Thanks
Yes life is too short but I wondered the reasoning behind it. Seems a bit bizarre. All in moderation x
I’ve not been told to limit or avoid any foods at all so Googled this to see if I could find anything. What I found was an NHS document encouraging patients to drink malted drinks! So basically I think unless it’s specific to your treatment & they’ve explained what would happen if you did have these things (which sounds like it’s not) then I would just continue as you are! A healthy diet with some nice things in moderation! Good luck!
I asked my oncologist about diet after a breast cancer diagnosis and she said nothing has been proven to help or not to help. Just try and eat healthily most of the time.
I eat a lot of dark chocolate, which is very good for you, so I'm not giving that up!
I asked my other oncologist about alcohol and he just said don't binge drink.
As others have said, everything in moderation.
