Hi,
six weeks ago I had a skin/nipple sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction using silicone implant but since I have been suffering with a dull ache in and around the breast which feels like it penetrates through to me back effecting my shoulder too.
I’ve been on tramadol for 5 weeks but been off the pain killers for a week and now taking paracetamol and ibuprofen which do not seem to be touching this constant pain, I’ve spoken to my consultant who has said this is normal for up to months after the surgery but I cannot cope with this day in day out and it’s impacting my life. Has anyone had this and if you have what medication have you taken to reduce the pain.
thank you
Hi Girl73 sorry to hear you are struggling with this pain, that sounds really tough. I'm not sure what to advise except I’d suggest going back to your consultant or your GP and perhaps being a little more insistent as pain that impacts your daily life isn't so common. Best wishes
