I am having my 1st appointment with oncologist on Thursday for radiotherapy. Do they tell you a date and are you allowed to change it. I really don't want to start radiotherapy till after 23rd December as going on family holiday on 10th and I don't want to cancel it.
Hi, you will usually have a planning CT appt first, then you will be given your future radiotherapy dates at the same time.
My radiology team were fairly flexible with dates/times (within reason), i asked to delay by a week on 2 different occasions due to holiday and they were happy to change start date for me.
If you explain your situation to your oncologist and radiotherapy team then hopefully they can accommodate your request.
Good luck, hope everything goes well for your treatment x
Hi Poucha welcome to the forum. I can imagine that if you said most of the above to them that they may be able to accommodate that for you. However, you need to check with the Oncologist that by delaying starting the Radiotherapy it will have no effect on your treatment plan and timeline for that if that makes sense?.
