Hello,
I finished chemotherapy with carboplatin and docetaxel (6 cycles at 3 week intervals) at the end of June. This was for a local recurrence of breast cancer, nearly 10 years after my original lot of chemo. Over the last few weeks I have been noticing lots of different aches and pains, and stiffness. When I get up from sitting or lying, my ankles and knee are really stiff. I have also noticed more aching in my back and ribs. And one of my reconstructed boobs (from double mastectomy nearly 10 years ago). I am only 43, but it feels like I'm quite broken!! I have seen my consultant and they are arranging a CT scan to try and put my mind at rest, but they said they aren't concerned (but they've said that before, and twice it turned out to be cancer, so I never find that sort of statement reassuring!!). I found a cancer forum online (I think a US one) where several people seemed to be experiencing aches and pains in different parts of their body in the several months following completion of carboplatin/docetaxel combo. Has anyone on here experienced the same?
Thanks
Hi, I had that chemo combo, but I must admit I started Letrozole after chemo so I did have some aches and pains but I assumed they were letrozole related. They weren't severe enough in my case to be of any concern. I hope you get some reassuring answers soon. Best wishes
