Hi Everyone. Just joined today. I’m 4 weeks post lumpectomy and my boob is very tender, 2/10 pain which wakes me up every night. No infection. Have not seen anyone yet as appointment for results not till Thursday. Is it normal to still be sore 4 weeks in?
Hello Comrie, welcome. I had a lumpectomy and it can take some time for everything to settle down after surgery but when I had pain which kept me awake at night I spoke to my nurse and they took a look at it and sent me for an ultrasound which located a small seroma (a build up of fluid). These are quite common after surgery and usually disappear naturally after a few weeks but mine was drained by a doctor as the position it was in was causing the pain at night. The relief was instant! I suggest that you contact your nurse as they may want to take a look to check that everything is ok, and mention it when you go to your results appointment too. Hope everything goes well with the rest of your treatment x
