  • Hi Spider

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  It's perfectly understandable that you are concerned about chemo but most people find that chemo isn't as bad as it's painted.  Everyone's treatment journey is different.  Your oncologist will explain all the possible side effects to you but it's rare that people get them all.  You will be given medication to help counteract any possible side effects and you will be given the number of your chemo unit to ring if you have any problems between cycles, and also an out of hours number to contact if you have any problems when your chemo unit is closed.  if you have any problems no matter how small don't hesitate to ring the numbers you will be given, as then your oncologist can tweak your treatment.  Also if you have any problems while your are being given your treatment don't hesitate to tell the nurses on the chemo ward so that they can sort out whatever the problem is.  There is a chemo thread on this forum that you can look at and to get advice from the ladies and the few gents on there if you need support.  Here's the link: https://community.macmillan.org.uk/cancer_types/breast-cancer-forum/f/questions-about-diagnosis-and-treatment/240592/june---august-2022-breast-cancer-chemo.

Best of luck with your appointment tomorrow and with your treatment.

    Best wishes
