Hi I had breast cancer last year and have an appointment at the end of year December with a doctor re breast reconstruction- I am just wondering did anyone else have this and was it worth it or not
Hi - I know it’s not the same but I had a therapeutic mammoplasty in Oct 21 and all healed and pleased with end result . However my left boob is larger now and wondering do I ask advice about possible surgery on the left breast to even them up ? Do you know what this would entail . I have an appt in October with my breast surgeon so will be enquiring .
Hi to you both.
I had breast cancer a few years ago and had immediate reconstruction by DIEP (fat from tummy area). It was highly successful and definitely worth all the hassle as it gives a very natural looking new boob. It's a big operation and quite a slow recovery with follow on operations to give the best possible outcome. I was offered and went ahead with extra surgery (liposuction and refill) to help with the shape. My surgeon did say he would perform a lift on my good side if it was required to give symmetry but in the end it wasn't needed. There are quite a few things that can be done to help give the best outcome. Hope this helps.Xxxx
